ISLE OF PALMS — John Carney of Pine Valley Country Club in Wilmington, N.C., fired a 6-under-par 64 to take the first-round lead Tuesday in the Wild Dunes E-Z-Go Pro-Am. Carney recorded his score on the resort's Harbor Course, earning a one-shot lead over John Faidley of Forsyth Country Club in Winston-Salem, N.C.
